Meghalaya State Lottery Rules

1. Total Tickets and Series:

   • The scheme consists of 99,988 tickets in 52 series, numbered from AA to BZ.
   • Each series contains tickets numbered from 00012 to 99999, totaling 51,99,376 tickets.

2. Draw and Prize Distribution:

   • The draw is held from the entire scheme, and prizes are distributed proportionately.
   • The price of each ticket is Rs 10, covering participation fees and contribution to prize funds.

3. Claiming Prizes:

   • Claims for prizes above Rs. 10,000 should reach the Director's office within 30 days.
   • Claimants must provide original winning tickets, 2 passport-size photos, Pan Card, and residence proof.
   • T.D.S. on prizes will be deducted at the source during payment.

4. Payment and Distribution:

   • Distributors are authorized to arrange payments up to Rs. 10,000 on behalf of the Government within 30 days.
   • Stockists/agents must ensure correct numbering and printing of tickets before delivery.

5. Verification and Returns:

   • Agents and sellers should check ticket correctness while selling or buying.
   • Defective tickets should be returned to the issuing authority.

6. Prize Money and Legal Proceedings:

   • Prize money is paid in Indian currency, with no joint claims.
   • Prize amounts for tickets under investigation or legal proceedings are held until settlement.

7. Ticket Authenticity and Forgeries:

   • Forged, torn, mutilated, or tampered tickets are rejected, except if genuineness can be verified.
   • The Director's decision on ticket authenticity is final and binding.

8. Date & Time Change and Legal Jurisdiction:

   • Government reserves the right to change the Date & Time of the draw.
   • Legal proceedings related to the lottery fall under the jurisdiction of the Courts of East Khas Hills District, Meghalaya.

9. Draw Procedures and Holidays:

   • Draws are held as per prescribed rules at public places within Meghalaya.
   • No draw on National Holidays (26th January, 15th August, and 2nd October).
